Tips That Will Help You Safely Share the Road with People on Their Bikes

It can be very easy to miss a person that is traveling along on the road with their bicycle. Whether you are driving down a main road, parallel parking, changing lanes or driving down a side street to go home, it is incredibly important that you pay attention to the potential bicyclists that are around you. They're at a much greater risk during an accident than you are in your car.
  • Kids are all over the place in the summer. They ride their bikes to the corner store, to friend's houses and to practices. Make sure that you keep a sharp eye out for children that have poor control over their bike, aren't wearing a helmet or aren't paying attention to road signs.
  • Adult bike riders must obey all common road signs. Don't assume they'll do this though. Make sure you yield to them or keep your distance.
